Jr. High & High School Battle of the Grades Food Drive starts Monday! Please see flyer below for Information!! Please turn your items in to your home room/ 1st period teacher each day! 5 items or more each day you can get a hand stamp to wear a hat that day! The class with the most items brought in will receive a Pizza Party or Ice Cream Buffet Bar!

Just a reminder that tomorrow (Friday) is an early dismissal for staff professional development. We won't be running a CTC bus tomorrow so we won't be picking up CTC students in the morning. CTC students are welcome to go to the CTC tomorrow but they will have to arrange for transportation in the morning and afternoon. This is typically what we do on early release days regarding CTC students.

If anyone is in need of power packs, I have put a stack out in front of the junior high gym/ bus unloading area. Take what you need. if anyone happens to drive by and there are none or you come to get some and there aren't any there please text me at 740-222-83 11 and I will come down and put more out.

The Western Career Development Center is staffed and open to anyone in the Western community who meets one of the following criteria: 1. Working a remote job and need a quiet place with high speed internet to work from (either full-time or as needed) 2. Completing a college degree or certification program 3. Working to complete a high school diploma or adult education program We are working with COAD to provide childcare on site for anyone who is using the center. We are in the early stages of the process but if we have anyone who meets the above criteria but childcare is a barrier please contact me and we'll get that situation taken care of. Attention ALL Seniors! The Senior Class will be having their "Senior Sunrise" this Friday August 23rd at 6:00 AM at the High School Track. Mr. Roush will be providing donuts for all of you. Please RSVP with the high school office if you plan to come, so that we know how many donuts to provide! For more information please feel free to call the office.

Here is a good intro for anyone who is unfamiliar with the GRIT Project. You may hear us refer to the GRIT Assessment. It is technically called the Future Plans Assessment. The terms are used interchangeably in Appalachia because of the unique partnership between the two entities. 2024-2025 Fall Jr. High and High School OHSAA Parents' Sports Meeting - Tuesday, August 13 at 6:00 in the WHS Cafeteria.

I know this is probably redundant but I wanted to remind everyone that your report time is 12:40 (be in the high school gym at 12:40) instead of the typical 12:00 on open house day. We haven't done a "meet everyone" event before and we have a lot of new staff members and I want to make sure that the board members get to meet all of you.

The senior parking spots are posted on Facebook (district page) and also on our website (Live Feed). As always, if you want to switch with someone just get with them and if you both agree to the switch then it's good with us. I can't share the picture through text so you'll have to go to FB or the website to get your spot. I tried to get everyone who had contacted me. Good morning senior parents! Sorry to bother you but we may not have all the kids' numbers so I'm trusting you to relay the message. Any senior interested in painting a parking spot needs to contact me (Mr. Brewster) at 740 222 8311.. You can simply text me your name and then I'll have the number to reply. I'll randomly draw numbers to assign spots (to make it fair) and then if you guys want to trade with one another it's good with us as long as everyone agrees on the switch. Please share this info with your senior friends. We are repainting the spots back to black. As soon as that's done I'll let you know. Should be early next week.

Any boys or girls interested in playing high school soccer or with questions about playing high school soccer please contact Coach Claytor at 740 970 0840. We would love to have so more players join the program!!
